SensoWeb "Edge" - Web edge monitoring in high-temperature applications

Detecting the web edge is not an easy task, especially for high-speed endless belts, such as the wire in a paper machine:

mechanical switches wear out and can also damage the edge of the web;
The horizontal oscillation usually cannot be controlled sufficiently finely with a digital switch;
Sophisticated measuring systems, in turn, cannot withstand the high environmental stress caused by temperature, humidity and pollution.

We offer two fiber optic systems that reliably and wear-free detect the web position even in high-temperature areas:

SensoWeb "Edge-B" (binary)

SensoWeb “Edge-B” consists of two parallel fiber optic light sensors with background suppression, each monitoring a boundary position of the web (screen, paper web).

If the switching signal from the inner position sensor drops, this means that the track position is too far inward and the track position needs to be adjusted outward. If the switching signal from both sensors is activated, this means that the track has been moved too far outward and therefore needs to be adjusted inward.

A SensoWeb “Edge-B” system consists of:

two near-infrared sensors
2 fiber optics
Double V-bracket with associated quick-release bracket

SensoWeb "Edge-A" - (analog)

SensoWeb “Ege-A” is the solution when web edge control using limit positions leads to a “nervous” web run:

The sensor continuously records the web edge position over a measuring width of 200mm and transmits this to the control system via the analog signal, thus enabling sensitive, continuous control!

A SensoWeb “Edge-A” system consists of:

air-flushed measuring fork with associated quick-release holder
