SensoWeb "Guard-mat" - tear detection in front of coverings

SensoWeb “Guard-mat” is a unique material-sensitive sensor for tear detection on screen or felt backgrounds, based on an innovative concept:

While color sensors aim to detect paper web and fabric based on different colors (which can change significantly due to moisture, contamination, or even screen changes), the SWIR sensor distinguishes paper and screens based on their different specific absorption profiles in the near infrared range!

This means that the sensor not only works independently of the screen or paper color, but also enables the monitoring of the screen's aging!

And thanks to its robust fiber optic design, the sensor is also ideally suited for the harsh environmental conditions of a dry group.

SensoWeb “Guard-mat” (formerly SensoWeb “Felt”) is available in two versions:

• SensoWeb “Guard-mat/DF”: for the detection of tears before drying screens
• SensoWeb “Guard-mat/PF”: for tear detection against a felt background

A SensoWeb “Guard-mat” system consists of:

• Near-infrared (SWIR) sensor
• High-end fiber optics (up to 15m length)
• Boom with air-flushed sensor head plus quick-release bracket
• optional communication unit with Ethernet interface
