Adhesive seam sensor SensoWeb “Splice”
For splicing paper webs, preferred are repulpable adhesive tapes used: they optimize the splicing process and save waste – but require a suitable Sensor für eine reliable detection!
In order to enable a continuous process, the paper webs delivered on drums must be reconnected to one another in offline coating machines, calenders, etc. To ensure that this can be done as quickly as possible, the webs are bonded with adhesive tapes in the so-called “flying splice” process - preferably with recyclable adhesive tapes so that the adhesive seams can then easily be returned to the pulper.
The bonding must take place exactly at a time when the two rotating drums are in the correct rotational speed and position relative to one another - and this is where SensoWeb "Splice" comes into play:
Our glue seam sensor enables the position of the applied adhesive tape to be detected without additional markings – even and especially when it comes to repulpable adhesive tapes! This allows the control system to precisely determine the surface speed of the new web and adjust it to that of the unwinding reel, allowing the gluing to be initiated at the appropriate time.
SensoWeb “Splice” detects repulpable adhesive tapes
The sensor has been optimized for blue, repulpable adhesive tapes and is able to reliably detect these over a wide working range and therefore even with changing drum diameters! Web speeds of up to 1500 m/min and more can also be managed.
